Election Commission: With 91.68% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.7%, Second Is GERB-UDF with 13.4%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released preliminary results following the parliamentary election held on April 19. As of 10 am on Monday, the initial data compilation was based on 91.68% of the available tally sheets, processed through the section election commissions and aggregated at the constituency level. According to the preliminary announcements, certain parties and coalitions have met the required 4% electoral threshold.

The Election Code stipulates specific timelines for the finalization of the electoral process. The CEC is mandated to announce the total votes received and the subsequent distribution of seats among all participating parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election day. Furthermore, the names of the duly elected Members of Parliament must be officially published within seven days of the election.

These proceedings mark the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021. The preliminary reporting structure indicates that the various local election commissions are systematically submitting their compiled data, allowing the CEC to begin the aggregation process. The ongoing review of the tally sheets is crucial for establishing the final mandate of the elected representatives.

The commission’s methodical review ensures adherence to all statutory requirements governing the conduct and outcome of the national election.
