Data released by the Trakia Economic Zone (TEZ) highlights the significant role of Bulgarian suppliers in the manufacturing sector, specifically for Liebherr Appliances. In 2025, a total of 65 Bulgarian suppliers provided 167 million parts for the production of refrigerators and freezers. The direct materials supplied by these Bulgarian companies amounted to EUR 83 million.

Of this total, EUR 62 million was directed to the Liebherr Hausgerate Marica plant, situated within the Trakia Economic Zone. Key partners contributing these components include companies such as Gotmar, Gama Plast, Intechna, Bunay, Tela, Tanevplast, and Moni MG, who ensure the quality and reliability standards required by the German group. The partnership extends beyond raw materials.

Liebherr Hausgerate Marica also collaborates with numerous Bulgarian firms in crucial areas, including logistics, personnel transport, recruitment, energy supply, IT services, waste recycling, and catering. The combined turnover from these diverse services is projected to approach EUR 20 million by 2025. The cooperation underscores the growing economic importance of the region.

According to the group, these partnerships contribute to enhanced manufacturing competitiveness, sustainable employment, and the development of technological capacity within Bulgarian businesses. This commitment was recently reinforced by Liebherr’s EUR 90 million investment in a new production and warehousing facility within the Trakia Economic Zone, solidifying the region’s position in the industrial supply chain.
