In 2025, a total of 167 million parts for the manufacture of refrigerators and freezers were produced by 65 Bulgarian suppliers, according to the latest data released by the German division Liebherr Appliances, as reported by the Trakia Economic Zone (TEZ). The direct materials supplied by these Bulgarian companies amounted to EUR 83 million, with EUR 62 million allocated to the Liebherr Hausgerate Marica plant, situated within the Trakia zone. Key partners supporting this production include companies such as Gotmar, Gama Plast, Intechna, Bunay, Tela, Tanevplast, and Moni MG.
These firms supply essential components, helping the German group maintain high standards of quality, efficiency, and reliability. The collaboration extends beyond raw materials. Liebherr Hausgerate Marica also utilizes numerous Bulgarian companies for services encompassing logistics, personnel transportation, recruitment, energy supply, information technology, waste recycling, and catering.
The total turnover generated by these auxiliary partnerships is projected to approach EUR 20 million by 2025. Company reports indicate that Bulgarian suppliers are taking an increasingly vital role in the production development. This cooperative relationship contributes to enhanced manufacturing competitiveness, fosters sustainable employment, and promotes the technological capacity of local firms.
Further underscoring this commitment, the German industrial group Liebherr recently completed a major investment of EUR 90 million in a new production and warehousing facility within the Trakia Economic Zone.
