Minister Recognizes Mariana Uzunova and Kaloyan Petrov for European Trampoline Championships Performance

The Ministry of Youth and Sports announced on Thursday that Minister Dimitar Iliev recognized Bulgarian athletes Mariyana Uzunova and Kaloyan Petrov following their participation in the European Trampoline Championships held in Portimao, Portugal. The athletes secured a total of two bronze medals at the continental championship. Uzunova’s individual performance in the under-21 age group saw her achieve third place, earning a score of 51.580 points during the final round.

In the men’s competition within the same age bracket, Petrov finished in seventh place; reports indicated that a specific error prevented him from reaching the podium. Furthermore, Uzunova and Petrov successfully claimed a medal in the mixed synchronized event, where their routine earned a score of 46.180 points. Addressing the athletes, the minister commended their strong performance at the European Championships.

He acknowledged the demanding nature of the sport, noting how easily mistakes can impact results. The minister encouraged the pair to continue their dedication, build upon their achievements, and maintain confidence in their abilities for future endeavors. In addition to the athletes, Coach Stanislav Stoyanov was also presented with an honorary plaque in recognition of his contributions.
