The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15th to the 17th. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the ensemble, which plans to perform “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” aiming to convey the “sincere, vibrant emotion” that unites its members regardless of their location.
The members of SamoDivi reported that preparations are advancing with significant dedication, involving twice-weekly rehearsals, detailed costume work, and overall preparation. The samodivi group is described as a small yet cohesive unit featuring dancers from multiple generations. For the performers, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a profound bond, a sense of belonging, and a connection that sustains them globally.
The group expressed anticipation to share this cultural emotion with the audience in Munich. The festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance, is dedicated to amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the inaugural edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025.
For the 11th installment in Munich, organizers anticipate attendance from over 100 dance groups and more than 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event.
