Hotel Devin Aims to Position Rhodope Area Among Leaders in Health Tourism

SPA Hotel Devin aims to establish the Rhodope area as a leader in health tourism by continuing its established balneotherapy traditions, according to the hotel manager, Dzheylyan Kokalova. Historically, the region was recognized as a natural sanatorium for respiratory issues, bone ailments, and recovery from chronic stress, even before widespread tourism development. The hotel’s spa center utilizes mineral water sourced from the Bedenski thermal spring, offering treatments beneficial for preventing musculoskeletal disorders.

For the upcoming summer season, popular packages include the Healthy Joints program, which incorporates mineral water procedures, mud therapy, and physiotherapy. Other specialized offerings include “Movement Without Pain,” a rehabilitation program for injuries, and an Anti-Stress and Relax package combining water therapies and massages for the nervous system. Detox and Tone holidays also feature drinking therapy with Devin mineral water.

The spa facilities are equipped with an indoor mineral pool, an outdoor mineral hot tub, sauna, steam bath, and a modern physiotherapy section. Complementing the stay is the Bulgarian Village restaurant, which serves traditional Rhodope recipes using natural products. The hotel anticipates welcoming primarily Bulgarian tourists seeking a blend of mountain tranquility and professional healthcare.

Furthermore, the management noted that Israeli visitors, who have frequented the hotel since 2003, are expected to visit during the summer season. The spa center integrates modern medical equipment with the region’s rich mineral springs. BTA highlights this commitment to wellness through its “BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water” feature, which covers over 200 certified spa and wellness centers in Bulgaria, aligning with Europe’s major health tourism event, HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT.
