Hotel Sport Welcomes Guests After Complete Renovation and Upgrade to 5-star Category

The MPM Hotel Sport in Bansko has reopened following a comprehensive renovation, achieving a 5-star rating for the 2023/2024 winter season, according to hotel management. The upgrades focused on modern design and enhanced functionality across all guest areas. The overall stay concept has been expanded to include new leisure opportunities, such as a dedicated children’s center, a fitness area, and an updated ski center.

The hotel offers direct, comfortable access to the ski slopes, complementing its robust spa and wellness facilities. The spa area is designed to support an active mountain sport vacation, offering amenities including an indoor heated pool, classic and salt saunas, a steam bath, hammam, and an outdoor jacuzzi with panoramic views. Available treatments include various massages, aromatherapy, reflexology, and specialized body and facial care.

Management noted that while location and ski experience remain primary draws for winter guests, a certified spa and wellness center is increasingly recognized as a key complementary element. Modern tourists often seek a balance between vigorous activity and dedicated recovery time during extended stays. The MPM Hotel Sport, part of the MPM Hotels brand, has received the Traveller Review Award 2026 based on positive guest feedback.

Furthermore, BTA highlights the growth of wellness tourism in Bulgaria through its “BG SPA: Salus per aquam” feature, which tracks over 200 certified spa centers. This initiative is connected to Europe’s major health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for May 2026 in Varna, Sts. Constantine and Helena, Golden Sands, and Albena.
