The event, hosted by the InvestBulgaria Agency (BIA) at the Hyatt Regency Sofia hotel, brought together key figures from the business community, state institutions, and international partners. Addressing the assembled investors, President Iotova thanked them for their entrepreneurship and dedication, noting that their work significantly increases trust in Bulgaria’s business potential.
She advised that amid current global turbulence, investors must maintain flexibility, ambition, and professionalism to not only protect their investments but also to plan for future growth. According to Iotova, the most vital component for any economic system’s development remains human capital. The President highlighted Bulgaria’s strategic importance, noting that the nation is among six EU countries designated to host one of Europe’s gigafactories.
She called for the successful establishment of this facility and supporting infrastructure to elevate Bulgaria to a regional leadership role. The Investor of the Year initiative recognizes companies and projects that contribute to job creation, innovation, and the sustainable growth of the Bulgarian economy. President Iotova concluded her remarks by reaffirming the commitment to fostering an environment where private investment can thrive, solidifying the country’s standing on the international stage.
The ceremony also marked the 30th anniversary of the InvestBulgaria Agency.
