Iotova to Attend 8th European Political Community Summit in Yerevan

President Iliana Iotova is scheduled to visit Yerevan to participate in the 8th summit of the European Political Community on May 3 and 4. The forum, themed “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe,” is expected to gather nearly 50 heads of state and government. Notably, Canada will participate as a non-European guest, represented by Prime Minister Mark Carney.

On Sunday, May 3, the head of state will conduct diplomatic engagements, including meetings with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During her visit, Iotova will also tour the 131st Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan, an institution dedicated to studying Bulgarian folklore. The following day, May 4, the focus shifts to key regional policies.

President Iotova will participate in a high-level event addressing the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. Within the broader scope of the summit, she is slated to address the “European Coalition Against Drugs,” where her remarks will emphasize transport and energy connectivity across Europe. On the sidelines of these proceedings, Iotova is scheduled to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas.

The summit represents a significant political gathering designed to foster cooperation among European nations and international partners on matters of stability and infrastructure.
