Killed, 14 Injured in Drone Attack in Odesa

An overnight drone attack struck the Black Sea city of Odesa, Southern Ukraine, resulting in casualties and structural damage, according to Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration. Kiper reported that two individuals were killed and fourteen others were injured during the assault. Rescuers from the State Emergency Service evacuated 36 residents, including two children, from the affected areas.

The consequences of the Russian strike were extensive, affecting both residential zones and maritime traffic. Residential areas sustained significant damage, with at least three buildings reported to have suffered substantial structural harm, including destroyed facades and shattered windows. Authorities confirmed that various services are currently mobilized to manage the aftermath of the overnight incident.

In addition to the damage ashore, a merchant vessel flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, which was en route to a port in Greater Odesa, sustained damage. A fire broke out aboard the ship but was reportedly contained quickly by the crew, with no casualties reported from the vessel itself. While the region has a substantial Bulgarian population—estimated to be around 50,000 to 60,000 residents in Odesa city—the immediate focus remains on assessing the damage from the attack and providing support to the injured and displaced residents of Odesa.
