Killed, 14 Injured in Drone Attack in Odesa

According to Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, an overnight drone attack struck the port city of Odesa, resulting in two fatalities and 14 injuries. Rescuers from the State Emergency Service evacuated 36 residents, including two children, from the affected area. The repercussions of the attack were visible across multiple sectors.

In terms of infrastructure, at least three residential buildings sustained significant damage. Reports indicate that apartments and facades were destroyed, and numerous windows were shattered. Despite the damage, relevant services are currently mobilized to manage the aftermath of the overnight assault.

Additionally, a merchant vessel flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, which was en route to a port in Greater Odesa, sustained damage. A fire broke out aboard the ship but was successfully extinguished by the crew, with no casualties reported from the vessel. The incident underscores the ongoing impact on the region.

While the focus remains on the immediate emergency response, the area has a substantial population, including a significant Bulgarian community. However, the primary focus remains on the casualties—two individuals reported killed—and the extensive damage caused by the overnight drone action against Odesa. Authorities are continuing efforts to assess the full scope of the damage sustained by the city.
