Leventi Duo to Present Piece for Two Bagpipes in Munich

The Megdanski Leventi, a musical duo featuring Aleksander Andonov from Nessebar, Bulgaria, and Georgi Dushev from Castelo de Rugat, Spain, will present a performance at the 11th annual “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance” gathering. This event is scheduled to take place from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich, Germany, and will feature music for two bagpipes. The 16-year-old musicians described their piece, titled “A Walk Through The Shopluka,” as having a bright character, lively rhythm, and authentic folk spirit.

They explained that their collaboration stems from a shared passion for Bulgarian folk music, which united them into the duo, despite not always being physically together. The members also mentioned that their friendship is frequently maintained online, with holiday gatherings being particularly cherished. Regarding their performance, they noted that a touch of humor has been incorporated at the suggestion of their teacher and expressed hope that it will entertain and surprise the audience.

The festival, “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance,” is organized for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the inaugural event in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. The upcoming 11th edition in Munich is anticipated to host over 100 dance ensembles and an audience exceeding 4,000 guests.

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is serving as the official media partner for the event and will feature all participating groups.
