Leventi Duo to Present Piece for Two Bagpipes in Munich

The Megdanski Leventi, a duo featuring Aleksander Andonov from Nessebar, Bulgaria, and Georgi Dushev from Castelo de Rugat, Spain, will present a performance at the 11th edition of “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance.” This traveling gathering will take place from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich, Germany. The 16-year-old musicians, who are graduates of bagpipe teacher Petko Stoyanov in Nessebar, described their piece, titled “A Walk Through The Shopluka,” as having a bright character, lively rhythm, and authentic folk spirit. The leventi noted that their connection was fostered by their shared love for Bulgarian folk music, a bond that sustains them despite not always being physically together, with holiday meetings remaining particularly cherished.

They added that their performance incorporates a touch of humor, an element suggested by their teacher, hoping to entertain and surprise the audience. The festival, organized for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria, was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France. This group hosted the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025.

Organizers anticipate attendance from over 100 dance ensembles and more than 4,000 guests at the Munich event. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is serving as the official media partner for the event and will feature all participating groups.
