Leventi Duo to Present Piece for Two Bagpipes in Munich

The Megdanski Leventi, a musical duo featuring Aleksander Andonov of Nessebar, Bulgaria, and Georgi Dushev of Castelo de Rugat, Spain, is scheduled to present a performance at the 11th edition of “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance.” This international gathering will take place from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich, Germany. The 16-year-old musicians, who are graduates of the renowned bagpipe teacher Petko Stoyanov, created a piece titled “A Walk Through The Shopluka.” According to the performers, the music embodies a bright character, lively rhythm, and authentic folk spirit. The leventi collaboration stems from a friendship rooted in a shared love for Bulgarian folk music, which has sustained them despite geographical distance, with online connection and holiday meetings being particularly valued.

They added that their performance incorporates elements of humor, hoping to entertain the audience. The festival, “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance,” is dedicated to amateur folklore ensembles performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the inaugural event in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025.

Organizers anticipate a large turnout for the Munich event, expecting participation from over 100 dance ensembles and an attendance exceeding 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event, managing the presentation of all participating groups.
