Leventi Duo to Present Piece for Two Bagpipes in Munich

The Megdanski Leventi, a musical duo featuring Aleksander Andonov from Nessebar, Bulgaria, and Georgi Dushev from Castelo de Rugat, Spain, will present a performance at the 11th edition of “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance.” This traveling gathering is scheduled to take place from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich, Germany. The 16-year-old musicians described their piece, titled “A Walk Through The Shopluka,” as having a “bright character, lively rhythm and genuine folk spirit.” The duo explained that their connection was formed through a shared passion for Bulgarian folk music, stemming from their studies with bagpipe teacher Petko Stoyanov in Nessebar. While their friendship is often maintained online, the musicians highlighted that their in-person meetings during holidays are particularly cherished.

They added that the performance incorporates a touch of humor, hoping to entertain the audience while keeping a small element a surprise. “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance” is an event organized for and by amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria. The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which has hosted previous editions, including the first in 2015 and the tenth in 2025.

Organizers anticipate a significant turnout for the Munich event, expecting over 100 dance ensembles and more than 4,000 attendees. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner, responsible for presenting all participating groups.
