Leventi Duo to Present Piece for Two Bagpipes in Munich

The Megdanski Leventi, a musical duo featuring Aleksander Andonov from Nessebar, Bulgaria, and Georgi Dushev from Castelo de Rugat, Spain, will present a piece for two bagpipes at the 11th edition of “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance.” This event is scheduled to take place from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich, Germany. The 16-year-old musicians, who are graduates of Petko Stoyanov in Nessebar, stated that their performance, titled “A Walk Through The Shopluka,” embodies the bright character, lively rhythm, and authentic folk spirit of Bulgarian music. They noted that their collaboration stems from a shared passion for Bulgarian folk traditions, maintaining their connection through mutual interest despite geographical distance.

The ensemble indicated that their performance incorporates elements of humor, aiming to engage the audience. The festival, “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance,” is organized for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria. The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted the first edition in 2015.

For the 11th iteration in Munich, organizers anticipate participation from over 100 dance ensembles and an attendance of more than 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event, responsible for presenting all participating groups.
