The Megdanski Leventi, a duo featuring Aleksander Andonov from Nessebar, Bulgaria, and Georgi Dushev from Castelo de Rugat, Spain, will present a piece titled “A Walk Through The Shopluka” at the 11th edition of the “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance” gathering. This event is scheduled to take place from May 15 to 17 at the BMW Park in Munich, Germany. The 16-year-old musicians, graduates of Petko Stoyanov in Nessebar, described their music as possessing a bright character, lively rhythm, and authentic folk spirit.
They explained that their connection, which formed the leventi duo, was rooted in their friendship and shared passion for Bulgarian folk music, despite not always being physically together. They noted that their online interactions and holiday gatherings are particularly cherished. The duo also mentioned that their performance incorporates a touch of humor, hoping to entertain and surprise the audience.
The “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance” festival is organized for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative originated with the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. The upcoming 11th edition in Munich anticipates participation from over 100 dance ensembles and an attendance of more than 4,000 guests.
The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event and will provide coverage of all participants.
