The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble SamoDivi is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. For the third consecutive appearance, the ensemble will perform Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance.
The members of SamoDivi stated that their preparation for the festival is proceeding with dedication, involving twice-weekly rehearsals and detailed work on costumes. The samodivi group comprises dancers from various generations, noting that for them, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a cultural connection and a sense of community, regardless of their global location. The festival itself is organized for and by amateur folklore groups performing outside of Bulgaria.
The initiative was founded by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the inaugural event in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. For the 11th installment in Munich, organizers anticipate attendance from over 100 dance groups and an audience exceeding 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event and will feature all participating groups.
The festival aims to showcase the diversity of Bulgarian cultural expression through traditional dance arts across the international community.
