The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble SamoDivi is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will be held at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. In their third consecutive appearance, SamoDivi will perform their piece, “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” aiming to convey the “sincere, vibrant emotion” that unites them regardless of their location.
The ensemble reported that preparations are moving forward with significant enthusiasm, involving rehearsals twice weekly, detailed work on choreography, and costume preparation. SamoDivi is described as a small but cohesive group, comprising dancers from various generations. For the performers, folklore transcends mere dance; it represents a connection, a sense of belonging, and a means of maintaining unity across the globe.
The SamoDivi team expressed anticipation about sharing this emotion on stage in Munich. The festival, organized for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside of Bulgaria, was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France. This group hosted both the inaugural 2015 edition and the tenth edition in 2025.
The 11th Munich event is anticipated to host over 100 dance ensembles and an audience of more than 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event and will feature all participating groups.
