The Nessebar municipality has announced a comprehensive cultural and sporting programme in anticipation of the Giro d’Italia 2026, which is scheduled to commence on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre, preparations for the major cycling event will begin the day prior, with festivities slated for May 7. The initial day’s activities will feature a bazaar held in Mesambria Square, alongside an amateur cycling tour that will depart from the seaside town at 10:00 a.m.
The evening schedule is packed with entertainment, including a performance by various groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. Additionally, the Old Town will host concerts featuring the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R. Following the musical performances, the municipality has organized a fireworks display to conclude the day’s festivities.
On May 8, coinciding with the official start of the Giro d’Italia, the local authorities will organize a dedicated cross-country race that will utilize the primary race route. This extensive programme demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to hosting a significant international sporting event. The planning ensures that residents and visitors can engage with cultural activities alongside the athletic competition.
