Nessebar is developing a comprehensive cultural and sporting programme in anticipation of the start of the Giro d’Italia 2026 on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre on Friday, the festivities are scheduled to commence on May 7. The opening day’s activities will feature a bazaar held in Mesambria Square, alongside an amateur cycling tour traversing the coastal area.
The evening schedule is set to continue the celebrations with cultural performances. Attendees can enjoy acts by various groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. Additionally, the Old Town’s fortress walls will host concerts, featuring the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R.
Following the musical performances, the municipality has arranged for a fireworks display. On May 8, coinciding with the official start of the Giro d’Italia, the local authorities will organize a cross-country race that follows the official race route. These planned events are designed to engage residents and visitors alike leading up to the major cycling event.
