Support 26-1 Military Exercise to Take Place from April 27 to 30

The Logistic Support 26-1 tactical-special exercise is scheduled to take place from April 27 to April 30 at the Todorovo training ground. The primary objective of this exercise is the deployment of a convoy support centre designed to ensure the mobility of allied forces within the country. According to the Defence Ministry press service, personnel and equipment from military units under the Logistics Support Command in Sofia and Lovech are expected to participate, with up to 200 military personnel and 50 pieces of equipment anticipated.

Preparations for the training include the transportation of military personnel and equipment via the national road network on April 27 and 30, moving resources from Sofia and Lovech to the Todorovo vehicle depot near Pleven, in North Central Bulgaria. The region will also host international military movements. On April 27 and 28, personnel, vehicles, and supplies belonging to the Polish Armed Forces will utilize the national road network.

This movement is in preparation for their participation in the NATO Tiger Meet 2026 exercise in Greece, with their return journey scheduled for May 16 and 17. Furthermore, the logistical infrastructure will see passage of foreign forces later in the month. Between April 28 and May 1, rail convoys belonging to the armed forces of Sweden are scheduled to pass through Bulgaria.

These scheduled movements underscore the region’s role in supporting broader international defense cooperation and logistical readiness.

  1. It seems like the main focus of this exercise is bolstering logistical support for allied troop movements.

  2. What specific capabilities or equipment will be tested during the convoy support center deployment?
