The Bulgarian Defence Ministry has announced several upcoming logistical movements and training activities involving various national and allied forces. A key event scheduled is the Logistic Support 26-1 tactical-special exercise, set to take place from April 27 to April 30 at the Todorovo training ground. This exercise is themed around the deployment of a convoy support centre, designed to ensure the smooth movement of allied forces within the country.
According to the Defence Ministry press service, personnel and equipment participating in this military training will include up to 200 service members and approximately 50 pieces of equipment drawn from units under the Logistics Support Command in Sofia and Lovech. Preparations for this event involve transporting personnel and military assets via the national road network from Sofia and Lovech to the Todorovo vehicle depot near Pleven on April 27 and 30. In parallel international movements are scheduled.
On April 27 and 28, the Polish Armed Forces will utilize the national road network to travel for participation in the NATO Tiger Meet 2026 exercise in Greece, with their return journey planned for May 16 and 17. Furthermore, the logistical infrastructure will accommodate Swedish forces, with rail convoys belonging to the Swedish armed forces scheduled to pass through Bulgaria between April 28 and May 1. These movements underscore the ongoing capacity of the region to provide extensive logistical support for multinational defense operations.
