The Megdanski Leventi, a musical duo comprising Aleksander Andonov of Nessebar, Bulgaria, and Georgi Dushev of Castelo de Rugat, Spain, will present a piece titled “A Walk Through The Shopluka.” This performance is scheduled for the 11th annual “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance” gathering, taking place at BMW Park in Munich, Germany, from May 15 to 17. The 16-year-old musicians, who are graduates of the bagpipe teacher Petko Stoyanov in Nessebar, described their music as having a “bright character, lively rhythm and genuine folk spirit.” The duo highlighted that their collaboration stems from a shared passion for Bulgarian folk music, noting that their friendship, though maintained partly online, is strengthened by their in-person gatherings during holidays. They added that their performance incorporates a touch of humor, hoping to entertain and surprise the audience.
The “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance” festival is organized for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria. The initiative originated with the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. The 11th edition in Munich anticipates participation from over 100 dance ensembles and an attendance of more than 4,000 guests.
The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event and will feature all participants.
