Leventi Duo to Present Piece for Two Bagpipes in Munich

The leventi duo, consisting of Aleksander Andonov from Nessebar, Bulgaria, and Georgi Dushev from Castelo de Rugat, Spain, is scheduled to present a piece for two bagpipes at the 11th edition of “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance.” This traveling gathering will take place from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich, Germany. The 16-year-old musicians, graduates of the bagpipe teacher Petko Stoyanov in Nessebar, described their piece, titled “A Walk Through The Shopluka,” as possessing a lively rhythm and authentic folk spirit. The pair noted that their collaboration was fostered by their mutual interest in Bulgarian folk music, maintaining a strong bond despite their geographical separation.

They added that their performance incorporates elements of humor, while keeping certain aspects of the presentation private for the audience. The festival, “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance,” is organized for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the inaugural event in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025.

For the 11th edition in Munich, organizers anticipate attendance from over 100 dance ensembles and an audience of more than 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is serving as the official media partner for the event, responsible for presenting all participating groups.
