The Logistic Support 26-1 tactical-special exercise is scheduled to take place from April 27 to April 30 at the Todorovo training ground. The central theme of this military support operation is the “Deployment of a convoy support centre to ensure the movement of allied forces within the country.” According to the Defence Ministry press service on Friday, approximately 200 military personnel and up to 50 pieces of equipment from military units within the Logistics Support Command in Sofia and Lovech are expected to participate. Preparations for the exercise include the transportation of personnel and military equipment via the national road network on April 27 and 30.
These movements will move assets from Sofia and Lovech to the Todorovo vehicle depot near Pleven, in North Central Bulgaria. Additionally, the region will host other significant logistical movements. On April 27 and 28, military personnel, vehicles, and supplies belonging to the Polish Armed Forces will transit through the national road network.
Their movement is in preparation for participation in the NATO Tiger Meet 2026 exercise in Greece, with their return scheduled for May 16 and 17. Furthermore, between April 28 and May 1, rail convoys belonging to the Swedish armed forces are anticipated to pass through the country.
