The Logistic Support 26-1 tactical-special exercise is scheduled to take place from April 27 through April 30 at the Todorovo training ground. The central theme of this military drill is the deployment of a convoy support centre designed to ensure the effective movement of allied forces within the nation. According to the Defence Ministry press service, the event will involve up to 200 military personnel and approximately 50 pieces of equipment drawn from units under the Logistics Support Command in Sofia and Lovech.
Preparations for the exercise involve the transport of personnel and military equipment via the national road network on April 27 and 30, moving assets from Sofia and Lovech to the Todorovo vehicle depot near Pleven, in North Central Bulgaria. Furthermore, the region will see significant international logistical activity. On April 27 and 28, personnel, vehicles, and supplies belonging to the Polish Armed Forces will be transported across the national road network.
This movement is in preparation for their participation in the NATO Tiger Meet 2026 exercise in Greece, with their return trip through Bulgaria planned for May 16 and 17. Separately, rail convoys belonging to the armed forces of Sweden are scheduled to transit through the country between April 28 and May 1, adding to the region’s logistical tempo.
