To honor this significant historical event, several institutions are jointly organizing the academic session.
Collaborators include Sofia University, the State Archives Agency, the G.S. Rakovski National Defence College, the St Cyril and St Methodius University of Veliko Turnovo, the St Cyril and St Methodius National Library, and the Institute for Historical Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The commemorative day’s schedule is structured across multiple events.
The proceedings will commence at 11 am with a ceremony at the National Defence College, followed by the opening of the academic session at 1 pm in the Rectorate of Sofia University. Throughout the day, historians will participate in two dedicated panels discussing the landmark anniversary. Further activities include a poster exhibition focusing on the April Uprising, which will open at 1:45 pm in the foyer of the Sofia University Rectorate and is authored by Asst.
Prof. Vladimir Terziev. Later, at 5 pm, the National Library and the State Archives Agency will jointly open the exhibition titled “For the Freedom of a Nation” at the National Library.
