Two of President Iotova’s Armenia Visit for European Political Community Summit

Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova’s visit to Armenia continues for the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community, which commenced in Yerevan on Monday, according to the President’s press secretariat. A key focus of President Iotova’s participation is a high-level event concerning the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. This strategic initiative aims to bolster energy security and diversify natural gas supplies throughout Southeastern, Eastern, and Central Europe.

During her address at the forum, President Iotova intends to emphasize the importance of transport and energy connectivity across Europe. She is also scheduled to take part in an event titled “European Coalition Against Drugs” as part of the Summit’s agenda. On the sidelines, she is set to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas.

The Summit is jointly chaired by European Council President Antonio Costa and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Earlier on Sunday, President Iotova and Pashinyan signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and Armenia. Furthermore, President Iotova visited the Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan, named after the acclaimed Bulgarian poet.

During these engagements, President Iotova and her Armenian counterpart, Vahagn Khachaturyan, discussed methods to strengthen bilateral cooperation. President Iotova underscored the significance of the European Political Community in advancing connectivity and nurturing relations across the continent.
