Macedonia’s President Congratulates Rumen Radev on Election Victory

The President of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, extended congratulations to Rumen Radev following his victory in the parliamentary elections held on April 19. Speaking after attending the Conference of Presidents and Speakers of Parliaments of the Adriatic & Ionian Initiative in Skopje, Siljanovska-Davkova emphasized the importance of adopting a regional approach in diplomatic relations. The Macedonian president stated that North Macedonia remains committed to fostering “friendly and constructive relations” and promoting mutual understanding regarding the process of European Union enlargement.

She confirmed that she had reached out to Radev following the election and later spoke with him. During her remarks, she noted that the strong support surrounding Radev might be viewed by Bulgarian citizens as a stabilizing factor for the nation, potentially aiding his efforts to form a government and implement his platform. Siljanovska-Davkova added that she anticipates arranging a future meeting.

The diplomatic support was echoed by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, who also congratulated Radev on his success, stressing the necessity of continued dialogue and maintaining positive neighborly relations.
