Two of President Iotova’s Armenia Visit for European Political Community Summit

Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova is continuing her visit to Armenia for the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community, which commenced in Yerevan on Monday. The President is scheduled to take part in a high-level event concerning the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. This strategic initiative aims to bolster energy security and diversify natural gas supplies throughout Southeastern, Eastern, and Central Europe.

During her address at the forum, President Iotova plans to emphasize transport and energy connectivity within Europe. Her itinerary also includes participation in an event titled “European Coalition Against Drugs.” Additionally, she is scheduled to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas on the sidelines of the Summit. The Summit is co-chaired by European Council President Antonio Costa and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Earlier on Sunday, President Iotova and Mr. Pashinyan signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and Armenia. During her visit, President Iotova also toured the Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan, named after the celebrated Bulgarian poet.

Furthermore, President Iotova and her Armenian counterpart, Vahagn Khachaturyan, discussed methods to strengthen bilateral cooperation. President Iotova stressed the significance of the European Political Community in improving connectivity and advancing relations across the continent, particularly in relation to energy infrastructure like the gas corridor.
