Welcomes Participants in Three Seas Initiative Summit

Dubrovnik is hosting the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) Summit, with a Bulgarian delegation, led by Ambassador to Croatia Iva Kruleva, also attending. The city has implemented special traffic regulations to manage the event, as the tourist season is already underway. Dubrovnik Airport anticipates arrivals from both tourists and aircraft carrying summit participants.

Police have been mobilized for traffic management, and residents have been advised to expect potential congestion. The 3SI serves as a platform for political and economic cooperation among thirteen EU Member States situated between the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black seas, including Bulgaria, Croatia, and Poland. Key strategic partners include Germany, the US, and the European Commission.

The initiative aims to enhance regional connectivity through investments in energy, transport, and digital infrastructure, having been established in 2016. For the 2026 summit, hosted by Croatia, the focus will be on bolstering regional resilience and linking the three nations to global economic corridors. Romana Vlahutin, Croatia’s national coordinator for the 3SI, noted that while East-West links have advanced, North-South connectivity requires attention.

She highlighted the significance of the current gathering, stating that the influx of participants from 45 countries positions the event beyond a purely regional scope. Among the high-profile political guests expected at the summit are heads of state and government from several nations, including Austria, Greece, and Romania. The event is also anticipated to draw significant international media coverage due to the expected attendance of numerous global business leaders and governmental representatives.
