Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance.” The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the ensemble, which will perform “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” aiming to convey the emotional connection inherent in their culture. The members of SamoDivi reported that preparations are proceeding with dedication, involving twice-weekly rehearsals, detailed costume work, and refinement of their choreography.

SamoDivi is characterized as a small, close-knit group featuring dancers from multiple generations. For the performers, folklore represents more than just a performance; it is described as a unifying bond and sense of community, regardless of their geographical location. The “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance” festival is organized specifically for amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside of Bulgaria.

The initiative was founded by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. For the 11th edition in Munich, organizers anticipate attendance from over 100 dance groups and an expected audience exceeding 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event, providing coverage for all participating acts.
