Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. For the third consecutive appearance, SamoDivi will perform “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” aiming to convey the deep, unifying emotion associated with their culture.

The ensemble has reported that preparations are proceeding with dedication, involving rehearsals twice weekly, detailed costume work, and meticulous preparation. SamoDivi maintains a structure that is both small and highly cohesive, featuring dancers spanning multiple generations. For the members, folklore represents more than mere performance; it serves as a cultural bond and a means of maintaining connection globally.

The festival itself is dedicated to amateur folklore ensembles performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted the inaugural edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. The 11th edition in Munich is anticipated to host over 100 participating dance groups and an attendance of more than 4,000 guests.

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is serving as the official media partner for the event, providing coverage for all participants.
