Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. This marks SamoDivi’s third consecutive appearance at the festival, where the group plans to present Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance.

The ensemble stated that preparations are advancing through dedicated rehearsals, which occur twice weekly, alongside detailed costume work. For the members of SamoDivi, folklore is described not merely as performance but as a cultural connection, a sense of belonging that unites them regardless of their global locations. The group anticipates sharing this cultural experience on stage in Munich.

Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance is an initiative dedicated to amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside of Bulgaria. The festival was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which successfully hosted both the inaugural edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. The 11th iteration in Munich is projected to host over 100 dance groups and an attendance of more than 4,000 guests.

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is serving as the official media partner for the event, overseeing the presentation of all participating artists. The festival serves as a significant gathering point for international cultural exchange through traditional dance.
