Editor-in-Chief Tina Mari Flem Elected President of Media Innovation Network MINDS

Tina Mari Flem, the editor-in-chief of the Norwegian News Agency, has been elected president of MINDS, the global media innovation network. This appointment follows the conclusion of the term for the chief executive officer of the Finnish News Agency. The election took place on Thursday afternoon during the annual general meeting of MINDS held in Vienna.

BTA Director General Kiril Valchev congratulated Flem on her election and presented her with the English-language edition of The Real News: Stories on Life 1898-2023, a book marking the 125th anniversary of BTA. BTA joined MINDS on April 23, 2022, after a unanimous decision by the MINDS General Assembly during the organization’s 32nd conference in Helsinki. This membership positioned Bulgaria’s national news agency alongside prominent international news organizations such as Reuters, Agence France-Presse, and the Associated Press.

BTA currently maintains agreements with 16 agencies that are members of MINDS. These include Anadolu Agency, ANP, Athens-Macedonian News Agency, ANSA, AFP, AP, Austria Presse Agentur, Belga, Deutsche Presse-Agentur, EFE, Kyodo News, LETA, Lusa, Polish Press Agency, Press Trust of India, and Reuters. The election of Flem to the chief position underscores the network’s continued collaboration among leading global news providers.
