The Nessebar municipality has announced a comprehensive cultural and sporting calendar in anticipation of the Giro d’Italia 2026, scheduled to commence on May 8. The local press center confirmed that a detailed public programme has been organized to celebrate the major cycling event. The festivities are set to begin on May 7.
The initial activities include a bazaar held in Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour of the seaside town starting at 10:00 a.m. As evening approaches, the entertainment schedule features performances by various groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. Furthermore, the municipality has arranged several outdoor concerts, highlighted by performances from the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R., which will take place in front of the Old Town’s fortress walls.
The evening festivities are slated to conclude with a fireworks display. On the day of the race, May 8, the municipality will further engage the public by organizing a cross-country race that will follow the official route of the Giro d’Italia. These coordinated efforts demonstrate the municipality’s commitment to hosting a large-scale event, ensuring a blend of sporting competition and public entertainment throughout the weekend.
