The Nessebar Municipality has announced a comprehensive series of events in anticipation of the Giro d’Italia 2026, which is scheduled to commence on May 8. The local authorities have curated a detailed cultural and sporting programme designed to engage residents and visitors during the build-up to the major cycling event. The preparatory festivities are set to begin on May 7.
The day’s activities will open with a bazaar held in Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour traversing the seaside area starting at 10 a.m. As evening approaches, the cultural programme continues with performances by various groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. The evening will also feature concerts by the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R., which are slated to take place against the backdrop of the Old Town’s fortress walls.
The celebrations for the first day will conclude with a fireworks display organized by the municipality. On the day the Giro d’Italia officially begins, May 8, the municipality will continue its commitment to the festivities by organizing a dedicated cross-country race. This race will follow the designated route of the professional cycling competition.
