Eastern therapies and traditional hammam rituals are currently drawing significant guest interest at Astor Garden Hotel, according to SPA Manager Nikolay Popov, speaking to BTA in the Sts Constantine and Helena resort near Varna. Popov noted that the hotel is connected to the Aqua House Thermal & Beach complex, which consistently introduces new services to enhance the visitor experience. He explained that modern travelers seek variety, and hospitality providers are adapting to meet these expectations by offering services designed to improve both physical and mental well-being.
The complex provides diverse options, including various pools for lap swimming and tailored beauty treatments. However, Popov advised caution regarding certain treatments following cosmetic or invasive procedures, noting that high humidity and steam should be avoided, which makes hammam rituals unsuitable in such cases. While traditional massages require similar consideration, certain approaches rooted in Chinese medicine may remain appropriate.
Aromatherapy remains popular due to its immediate effects, often combined with other treatments, while mud therapy is available, and the management is exploring algae-based treatments due to their known health benefits. Separately, BTA is highlighting the breadth of Bulgarian wellness, featuring over 200 certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centers in its “BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water” feature. This initiative is connected to the major European health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for May 11–13, 2026, across multiple Bulgarian locations.
BTA will serve as the event’s primary media partner.
