The protracted legal dispute surrounding the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) is reportedly nearing its conclusion, according to the legal team representing BOC President-elect Vesela Lecheva. This development follows the formal withdrawal of lawsuits filed by Stanka Zlateva, Belcho Goranov, and Plamen Krastev. These individuals had previously challenged several decisions made during the Committee’s General Assembly on March 19, 2025.
Lecheva’s legal representatives confirmed that the three plaintiffs have withdrawn their claims contesting the resolutions passed at the assembly. With this withdrawal, the process is expected to move toward final judicial rulings. Upon these rulings, Lecheva and the members of the BOC Executive Bureau anticipate being able to achieve official registration within the Commercial Register.
This anticipated resolution marks the end of a protracted legal challenge that has reportedly impeded the BOC’s operations for over a year. The Committee stated that these procedural steps are intended to restore institutional stability and promote unity within the Bulgarian sporting community. Lecheva extended gratitude to the Executive Bureau members who supported the Committee’s decisions and principles.
She affirmed that she and her team remain committed to operating with transparency, assuring the sporting community and the media of their forthcoming steps.
