Eastern therapies and hammam rituals are generating significant guest interest at the Astor Garden Hotel in the Sts Constantine and Helena resort near Varna, according to SPA Manager Nikolay Popov. Popov noted that the hotel is connected to the Aqua House Thermal & Beach complex, which regularly updates its services to enhance the visitor experience and meet evolving tourist expectations. The complex is designed to support both physical and mental well-being.
While guests can utilize various pools, including those designated for lap swimming, the facility offers tailored packages and a wide array of beauty treatments. However, Popov advised that massage programs must be administered cautiously to clients recovering from cosmetic or invasive procedures, as high humidity and steam, such as those found in a traditional hammam, should be avoided in such cases. Certain approaches derived from Chinese medicine may remain appropriate.
Aromatherapy remains a popular choice due to its rapid effects on the body, and it is frequently combined with other therapies. Additionally, guests can benefit from mud therapy, while management is considering incorporating algae-based treatments given the natural availability and documented health benefits of seaweed. In a broader industry context, BTA maintains a resource featuring certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centers across Bulgaria, totaling over 200 locations.
This initiative is linked to the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for May 11–13, 2026, across Varna, Sts.
