Support 26-1 Military Exercise to Take Place from April 27 to 30

The Logistic Support 26-1 tactical-special exercise is scheduled to take place from April 27 to April 30 at the Todorovo training ground. The central theme of this military exercise is the “Deployment of a convoy support centre to ensure the movement of allied forces within the country.” According to the Defence Ministry press service on Friday, personnel and equipment from military units under the Logistics Support Command in Sofia and Lovech are expected to participate, numbering up to 200 military personnel and up to 50 pieces of equipment. In preparation for the event, on April 27 and 30, military personnel and equipment will be transported via the national road network from Sofia and Lovech to the Todorovo vehicle depot near Pleven, in North Central Bulgaria.

Furthermore, logistical movements involving allied forces are planned. On April 27 and 28, personnel, vehicles, and supplies belonging to the Polish Armed Forces will utilize the national road network for transport to participate in the NATO Tiger Meet 2026 exercise in Greece. Their return journey through Bulgaria is scheduled for May 16 and 17.

Additionally, between April 28 and May 1, rail convoys belonging to the armed forces of Sweden will traverse the country. These scheduled movements underscore the role of national infrastructure in providing necessary support for international military cooperation and training activities.
