The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the decisions of fourteen candidates who were elected across two different Multi-Member Constituencies (MMCs) regarding which list they will officially join for the 52nd National Assembly. The details were presented by the CEC’s Deputy Chair during a meeting on Friday. Previously, the CEC had reported that thirteen candidates were elected across two MMCs.
The total number rose to fourteen following a decision made by a list leader concerning the allocation of a seat. The declarations specify the change in affiliation for each individual. For instance, Alexander Georgiev Pulev opted to enter from MMC 27 – Stara Zagora, rather than MMC 30 – Shumen.
Other shifts include Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev moving from MMC 24 – Sofia to MMC 9 – Kardzhali, and Rumen Georgiev Radev choosing MMC 25 – Sofia over MMC 2 – Burgas. Several other changes were formalized, such as Boyko Metodiev Borissov electing to represent MMC 16 – Plovdiv instead of MMC 25 – Sofia, and Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev moving from MMC 29 – Haskovo to MMC 24 – Sofia. The list of movements covers various regions, including representatives shifting between Sofia, Plovdiv, Blagoevgrad, and others.
The CEC confirmed that, following these declarations, the commission is expected to publish the complete roster of members for the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday. Earlier that week, the commission had also issued an announcement detailing the distribution of seats among political parties for the upcoming parliament.
