The Deputy Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the final declarations from several candidates who were elected in two Multi-Member Constituencies (MMCs) regarding their representation in the 52nd National Assembly. During a CEC meeting on Friday, a total of 14 individuals confirmed which specific constituency they will enter. The CEC had previously noted that 13 candidates had been accounted for across two MMCs, with the final declaration coming from Katya Paneva after a list leader finalized their choice.
These 14 individuals have now specified their preferred constituency for their seat. The declarations involved several shifts in representation. For instance, Alexander Georgiev Pulev selected MMC 27 – Stara Zagora over MMC 30 – Shumen, while Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev chose MMC 9 – Kardzhali instead of MMC 24 – Sofia.
Other notable shifts included Rumen Georgiev Radev moving from MMC 2 to MMC 25 – Sofia, and Boyko Metodiev Borissov choosing MMC 16 – Plovdiv over MMC 25 – Sofia. Further changes noted among the candidates included Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev opting for MMC 24 – Sofia from MMC 29 – Haskovo, and Tomislav Peykov Donchev selecting MMC 7 – Gabrovo over MMC 23 – Sofia. The list of 14 individuals confirmed their respective MMCs, including Katya Maksimova Paneva, who chose MMC 25 – Sofia from MMC 29 – Haskovo.
The CEC is scheduled to announce the complete roster of members of the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday. Previously, the commission had also provided details on the distribution of seats among political parties for the upcoming parliament.
