Of Ruse’s Taraclia Branch Holds First Student Conference

An applied science conference for students, PhD candidates, and young scientists was held recently at the Taraclia branch of Angel Kanchev University of Ruse. This event marked the first student conference hosted by the branch in Moldova and was part of the University of Ruse’s larger 65th science conference celebration. The forum commenced with a plenary meeting attended by the branch director, Assoc.

Prof. Valentina Vasileva, and the Administrative Director, Alexandr Borimecicov. During the opening ceremony, Vasileva addressed the establishment of a common European space for education and science and the role of universities within this framework.

The agenda also included book presentations supported by the Bulgarian Spirit Foundation. Vasileva stated that the conference aimed both to encourage students in creating scientific material and to assess the capability of their academic supervisors. She noted the success of the 23 papers presented, reflecting the collaborative efforts of the participating teams.

The conference was structured around three thematic areas. The first focused on Bulgarian cultural-historical heritage, covering topics from archaeological contributions to medieval literature. The second thematic area explored interdisciplinary research, highlighting folk music as a cultural identifier, Bulgarian folklore in Moldova, and pedagogical uses of traditional tales.

The third section addressed contemporary challenges in education and psychology, including educational processes as social-pedagogic systems and the integration of Artificial Intelligence in student development. The establishment of the Taraclia branch was a strategic step facilitating cooperation between Moldova and the University of Ruse. The conference provided a platform for presenting research stemming from this new academic structure.
