Welcomes Participants in Three Seas Initiative Summit

Dubrovnik is hosting the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) Summit, with a Bulgarian delegation, led by Ambassador Iva Kruleva, attending the meeting. The city has implemented special traffic regulations in preparation for the event. As the tourist season has begun, Dubrovnik Airport anticipates arrivals from both tourists and summit attendees.

Police services will manage traffic flow during the arrival of various delegations and have advised residents to anticipate potential congestion. The 3SI serves as a forum for political and economic cooperation among thirteen EU Member States situated between the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black Seas, including Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, and several others. Strategic partners include the US, Japan, Germany, and the European Commission.

The core objective of the platform is to enhance regional connectivity through investments in energy, transport, and digital infrastructure. The initiative, launched in 2016 by Croatia and Poland, is scheduled to focus on strengthening regional resilience and digital transformation in its 2026 edition. Croatia’s national coordinator noted that while East-West connections have seen development, North-South connectivity requires attention.

She emphasized that the current summit is drawing significant international interest, with representatives from 45 countries expected to attend, making it a global engagement rather than solely a regional one. High-ranking political guests, including heads of state and government from several nations, are also anticipated at the summit.
