The Cyprus-based folk formation Sovatchii is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at BMW Park in Munich from May 15 to May 17. According to the group’s artistic director, Teodosi Teodosiev, Sovatchii will perform as a камерна formation.

Their presentation will feature a segment from ‘Dances from Southeast Bulgaria,’ choreographed by Todor Bekirski and set to music by Stefan Chapkanov. Teodosiev described the piece as having a strong stage presence and powerful emotional impact. The Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance festival is dedicated to amateur folklore ensembles performing outside of Bulgaria.

The initiative was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the inaugural edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. The 11th edition in Munich anticipates attendance from over 100 dance ensembles and more than 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is serving as the official media partner for the event and will provide coverage of all participants.
