Bostandjiev Becomes New PFC Levski Sofia Owner

Bulgarian businessman Atanas Bostandjiev has assumed ownership of PFC Levski Sofia, taking over the majority share from the outgoing shareholder, Nasko Sirakov, as announced on Friday. While Sirakov will retain his position as club president, he will no longer hold equity shares. Sirakov stated that his departure as a shareholder followed a period of stabilizing the club, ensuring its operational survival and preserving its core identity.

Bostandjiev confirmed his commitment to upholding the identity and independence of the levski while aiming for sustainable success both on the pitch and within the club’s operations. He expressed satisfaction that Sirakov will continue in the presidency. A significant element of the club’s future strategy is the proposed new Georgi Asparuhov Stadium.

Levski and the architectural firm IPA have unveiled the concept, estimating a total investment of EUR 120 million. The facility is designed to accommodate 24,718 spectators under Bulgarian Football Union guidelines and 23,032 under UEFA standards. Construction is scheduled to commence in Spring 2027.

Beyond football, the stadium is planned as a multifunctional complex capable of hosting major events, including concerts for up to 40,000 people, alongside public green spaces. Atanas Bostandjiev brings substantial financial experience to his new role. He is the founder and CEO of Gemcorp Capital, established in 2014, which specializes in emerging markets.
