Ismena SPA Complex recently introduced outdoor thermal soaking pools filled with hot mineral water, according to manager Polina Boneva. These facilities represent the first and only open-air mineral soaking pools in Devin, operating year-round and attracting significant visitor interest. The entire complex is designed as a four-season destination, blending modern architecture with traditional Rhodope Revival styles.
The spa utilizes healing mineral water sourced from the Bedenski spring for a variety of treatments. Boneva noted that while Bulgarian tourists are the primary clientele, international visitors originate mainly from Germany, Israel, Russia, and the United Kingdom. Guests are drawn to water-based therapies for recovery and relaxation, benefiting from the mineral water’s alkaline properties, which aid skin cleansing, regeneration, and detoxification.
The mineral water immersion is particularly recommended for individuals with sedentary jobs or past injuries, as the heat and composition relax muscles and improve mobility without straining the heart. Spanning 17 decares, the complex encompasses a hotel section, fifteen guest houses, and landscaped park areas. The extensive spa center offers both indoor and outdoor pools, alongside amenities such as a sauna, steam bath, Finnish sauna, jacuzzi, and aromatic baths.
In addition to the hot soaking pools, the center features a contrast therapy shock pool (5°C), which guests can use for improved circulation following sauna sessions. The spa menu also includes restorative treatments like volcanic stone massage and magnesium massage, providing comprehensive rejuvenation options.
