& Caravaning Expo 2026 Opens with Nearly 100 Exhibitors

The Camping & Caravaning Expo 2026 opened on Friday and will continue through Sunday at the former Sofia Land park area. Organized by Camping.BG, this forum marks the 12th consecutive year of the event, which began in 2018. This year, 99 exhibitors from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, and Germany are participating.

The expo is anticipated to draw over 12,000 visitors, showcasing the latest trends in recreational vehicles, campers, caravans, and outdoor activities, alongside camping and water sports products. According to Veselin Valev, founder of Camping.BG, interest in camping tourism in Bulgaria is increasing. Valev noted that while equipment costs vary widely, from approximately EUR 100 to EUR 100,000, the choice between a camper and a caravan depends on the desired vacation style.

He advised that beginners should start at regulated campgrounds for amenities like showers and hot water, as wild camping can be challenging. The expo provides practical advice, including sessions on converting vans into campervans and understanding weight limits for travel. A key focus is infrastructure, as Valev stated that improved roads are necessary to support the growth of camping tourism.

While Bulgarian visitors are increasingly traveling abroad, particularly to Greece, the event also highlighted the growth of the sector domestically. The program is diverse, featuring children’s activities, sports demonstrations, and expert presentations. Sunday is dedicated to responsible camping in partnership with For the Earth.

The event aims to educate attendees on sustainable travel practices, complementing the focus on the latest in caravaning technology and camper models displayed by the numerous exhibitors.
